Funding opportunities
Training funding: Before you book a training course, you should find out about funding opportunities, as an application can usually only be submitted BEFORE booking a course. We have compiled the most important funding options for you below.
IMPORTANT! Our certification offers the ideal conditions on our part. However, we cannot guarantee that you will receive funding for your training at the end.
1st Compass Training Assistance
Would you like to complete one of our training courses and are looking for financial support? Then the COMPASS grant could be just the thing for you. With up to 90% subsidy for further training, this program offers a unique opportunity – especially for sole traders, freelancers and small businesses. Here you can find out whether you are eligible, how much funding is available and what you need to do to get the money.
1 Who can be supported?
The KOMPASS grant is aimed at solo self-employed persons who are based in Germany and earn their living primarily from self-employment.
In concrete terms, this means:
- You are not employed and subject to social security contributions (i.e. no part-time job with more than a mini-job scope).
- You have no or at most one employee (less than 20 hours/week).
- Your company is registered and legally active in Germany.
- You are of legal age and have a clearly recognizable need for further training.
Important: It doesn’t matter what industry you work in – whether you are a coach, consultant, creative or craftsman. What matters is that the training contributes to your entrepreneurial development in a comprehensible way.
2. how much is the funding specifically?
Funding is available for up to 90% of the training costs, up to a maximum of €4,500.
Example:
- Your training costs €5,000.
- You will receive €4,500 in funding.
- Your own contribution is only 500 €.
You do not receive a loan, but a non-repayable grant – in other words, real money that you do not have to pay back.
3. the procedure
The application process is somewhat bureaucratic, but feasible. Important: You may only book once your application has been approved. Here is an overview of the steps:
- Mandatory consultation at a COMPASS contact point
You register for a consultation at an official COMPASS advice center with your training requirements (one of our training courses). The aim is to determine your training needs and check whether our offer is suitable. You can find advice centers on the official KOMPASS website. - Issue of the COMPASSqualification check
The contact point checks the documents and issues the qualification check. - Booking the training with us
Only now do you make a binding booking for the training with us.
Important: You must pay for the training in advanceas funding will only be provided if you successfully complete the course. - Successful participation in the agreed qualification with certificate or confirmation of participation
You successfully complete the training within a maximum of six months after the qualification voucher has been issued. - Application and settlement with the support of the COMPASS contact point – For the pro rata reimbursement (up to 4,500 euros), you submit an application and submit it to the approval authority (Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See). They will check the application and reimburse the pro rata costs directly to you.
